Why Become a LitiGator?

Even though being a LitiGator is a very time intensive endeavor, the benefits are innumerable. Apart from learning an essential skill set involving communication and rational thinking, members form strong bonds with their fellow competitors. Many members end up saying that this organization was where they found their niche in college.

LitiGators also have the opportunity to travel all around the United States. In the past, they’ve traveled around the southeast to Atlanta, Memphis, Nashville, and Durham, but have also traveled as far as Washington, D.C., Los Angeles, and Minneapolis (to name a few).  Additionally, no member is ever limited competitively based on his or her ability to pay. Mock Trial is about commitment and skill, not about what’s in your bank account. For this reason, both travel and lodging are covered for members.

UF Trial Team Alumni have gone on to prestigious law schools after graduating from UF, including Duke University, University of Virginia, Columbia University and Harvard. In fact, being a part of an undergraduate mock trial team associated with the American Mock Trial Association is the third highest indicator of law school admissions behind GPA and LSAT scores.
