For the Second Time: Five Teams, Five Bids

For the second year in a row, the “LitiGators,” UF’s Mock Trial Team, has qualified five teams to move on to the second level of the American Mock Trial Association’s competition. This feat is unparalleled in the history of the American Mock Trial Association, which counts nearly all top fifty public and private universities among its members. This serves as a marker of the University of Florida’s success in intellectual competitions, alongside our school’s academic and athletic achievements.

Every year, we send teams to AMTA’s Regional competitions, with the goal of each of our teams earning a bid to the Opening Round Championships, or ORCs. Last year, we sent five teams and we earned five bids, becoming the second team in AMTA history to ever do so, and achieving a longtime goal for our program. This year, we have done it again, with each of our five teams earning a bid to ORCs. Congratulations to Team Emirates, Team Royal Dutch, Team Qantas, Team Aeroflot, and Team Lufthansa! Once again, we have made history.

Thank you to our coaches, our supporters, and every LitiGator, past and present, for their effort. We could not have done this without the hard work of every single one of you. As we continue on to the ORCs competition, we are wishing the best of luck to Team Redwood and Team Yosemite in securing two bids to the National Championship Tournament!
